Since 2015, SATISFY Running have been producing high-end apparel which has set tongues wagging. MothTech shirts which are a core feature of the Paris-based brand’s identity. Love them or hate them, they have been the centre of discussion on social media and beyond. From roots in apparel to their recently released Rocker trail shoe, SATISFY strives to find the perfect blend of performance and perfection in materials. Lucie was lucky enough to receive some of their latest creations and has put them to the test. Are they boutique brilliance or a price stretch too far for the performance?
SATISFY Running TechSilk 3″ Shorts
Designed to disappear on the run (not literally, modesty fans!) the SATISFY Running TechSilk shorts feature a 2-in-1 design. A TechSilk shell with a 2.5″ inseam is layered over the 3″ Justice liner to ensure that sweat is wicked away while allowing the legs to move in freedom with the 4-way stretch. The performance materials are backed with a carabiner for keeping the keys safe and a sweat-proof pocket to keep your phone to hand. All of this for a price of €180. How does it work on the mean streets of Brussels?
I love the shorts from the colour, I really like the aesthetic. But beyond that, the material has a really lovely feel against the skin. I find that when running, it genuinely does feel like I am wearing nothing at all. For me, that’s a very enjoyable feeling. Furthermore, I found that the fit around the waist was very pleasant and it has a drawstring to tighten them up if required. One downside I found with the shorts was the lack of a rubberised hem to the inner lining. During my run, I found that these started to ride up a little which was not ideal for comfort. On the other hand, my iPhone 14 fit well in the pocket and held comfortably on my run. There is room in the pocket for a larger size phone too.
SATISFY Running FuzzFleece AD Long Tee
Coming in at €180 and only 90g makes this a whopping €2 a gram. This is only slightly eclipsed by the adidas Pro Evo which comes in at just over €3 per gram. What it offers is Polartec Alpha Direct fleece for adaptive insulation on the go. Hydrophobic and breathable, the material offers protection on those more unpredictable adventures. Warmth without weight is what it offers and it is certainly delivers. The fit is fantastic and you can feel the warmth as soon as you put it on. However, for me and in the current warmer temperatures we are facing, it doesn’t currently feel like a running shirt. From my initial runs, I don’t currently find it breathable enough for my running needs.
That said, I do very much enjoy it as a piece of lifestyle wear. This is where it will find its home in my wardrobe at least until the temperatures drop a little further.
