TRE: Puma 2024 Line Up – Getting Fast-R

Whilst they have always been around the sprint circuit, Puma have been pushing onto the roads recently. Where are they taking us next?

Puma – Forever Faster

Driven to push their athletes faster, Puma takes the gloves off when it comes to innovation in their shoes. Last year’s Fast-R and Fast-FWD both defied tradition in the pursuit of speed. This year, we see refinements to a line which has proven to be more than worth its salt with a bronze medal on the feet of Molly Seidel at the last Olympics.

Let’s see where the big cat energy is flowing for 2024.

Puma 2024 Fast-R 2

Split midsoles and a very exposed carbon plate were a very obvious USP of the original Fast-R. This year sees more innovation on the already out there design. Looking to be Puma’s fastest road shoe, they have pulled out all the stops.

Specs:

New proprietary TPU belnd of the Nitro Elite Foam which adds bounce, energy return and reduces weight.

Reshaped carbon PowerPlate.

Redesigned and better fitting upper.

Stack height: 40mm in the heel and 32 in the forefoot for an 8mm drop.

Release date: Feb 2024 (global)

8th December 2023 Ekiden Rush (limited to 1000 pairs worldwide)

Release price: €260

Changes:

Lighter, bouncier and with a very obvious extension of the carbon plate beyond the toe of the shoe which will give a better kick on toe-off. This one looks to be a very exciting shoe.

Deviate Nitro 3

Puma Deviate Nitro 3

Puma’s daily to workout shoe is getting a third version. The first suffered from some fit issues for some feet. The second improved on that and became a very durable and versatile plated shoe. Hopefully the third will add to the refinements and take its place alongside shoes like the Endorphin Speed as a contender for being a single shoe rotation.
