KIPRUN KIPSUMMIT MAX Introduction
The KIPRUN KIPSUMMIT MAX longs to conquer ultra-trail distances with ease. It has for runners aiming for distances from the marathon to 170km. The KIPSUMMIT MAX blends responsive cushioning, all-terrain grip, and enhanced stability.
What’s new in the KIPSUMMIT MAX?
The midsole of the KIPRUN KIPSUMMIT MAX has KIPRUN’s new top-of-the-line FASTECH+ (SCF A-TPU) midsole compound. This is the same midsole from KIPRUN’s latest race-day road shoe – the KIPSTORM ELITE. The shoe offers a soft and dynamic ride which reduces fatigue while maintaining the propulsion which is needed to get you though long days on the trails.
An obvious part of a trail shoe which sets it apart from it’s road counterparts is the outsole. The KIPRUN KIPSUMMIT MAX features a Vibram Megagrip outsole with 4mm lugs. Having tested this outsole compound on other shoes recently, we know that this is certainly something to be excited about, with exceptional traction on wet rocks, steep gradients, and polished surfaces. KIPRUN has put it to the test in extreme conditions near Grenoble, France and it has delivered.
The upper of the shoe offers both comfort and protection. This has resulted in a dual-aspect design which combines a highly resistant mesh exterior for durability and abrasion protection with a padded, and glove-like interior that wraps the foot in comfort. The lacing system has also been designed with comfort in mind with an all-new band lace system being integrated into the shoe to simplify adjustability and enhance midfoot lockdown.
