Mizuno 2025 Line Up Introduction

As ever, Mizuno brings the mystery to TRE. The kimonos are out, the black and white paint jobs are in full force and the specs are a secret. What we do know is that Mizuno has 4 models ready for 2025. Some are very recognisable, some might be brand new! While we will have to wait and see the real details over the coming 12 months, Alex managed to sneak out some information to share with you all.

Mizuno Mystery Shoe 001

Category: Road
Stack: 39mm
Drop: 6mm
Weight: 235g | 8.3oz
Price: $150 | €160
Release date: January 2025

The first mystery brought by Mizuno is a familiar profile, you may recognise the DNA of the Neo Vista. However, this is a more democratic, easier to use every day shoe which should work for a wide range of runners. Firstly, this new for 2025 daily trainer comes with a new midsole compound. Mizuno Enerzy Next is a nitogen infused compound which is highlighted by the rather fetching colourway of the range.

Overall, Miuzno promises that this new compound is very bouncy, light and cushioned underfoot. That said, as it is a shoe for everybody, there is an element of stability in the compound to ensure everyone can enjoy their efforts. Thankfully, if this sounds intriguing to you, it is due for release in January 2025. Before then, make sure to keep your eyes on the Meta Endurance channels for the review.

Mizuno Mystery Shoe 002

Category: Road
Stack: Secret
Drop: Secret
Weight: 265g | 9.3oz
Price: Similar to the existing version (wink)
Release date: Autumn/Winter 2025

Next up, we have the Mystery Shoe 002. This is the super trainer of the Mizuno 2025 line up. Sources say that it is the offspring of a very popular 2024 Mizuno shoe. Although, that side profile doesn’t leave much imagination of who the parent is. However, the Mystery Shoe 002 offers a super bouncy dual compound midsole to make uptempo efforts a breeze.

The top layer is the new Mizuno Enerzy Next compound which offers bounce. Meanwhile, the bottom layer retains the original midsole compound to add some stability to the ride. Moreover, the fancy overlays are not just there for turning heads either. With the one-piece sock-like upper lacking a little structure, the overlays help to ensure a heel lockdown for when the paces pick up.

Mizuno Mystery Shoe 003

Category: Road
Stack: 38mm
Drop: 10mm
Weight: 265g | 9.3oz
Price: $140 | €160
Release date: Autumn/Winter 2025

In a similar vein, we have the Mystery Shoe 003. Straightaway, some people may recognise that this is an updated version of a Mizuno traditional daily trainer. Consequently, it is designed for a more stable ride that the more uptempo shoes. It continues the use of the new Mizuno Enerzy Next material but with a slightly different recipe than that used in the 001 and 002. This member of the Miuzno 2025 line up gives a more stable and durable ride.

Furthermore, the upper has had a bit of a facelift. It gains a new engineered mesh which nevertheless gives a solid lockdown. Overall, Mizuno say it will be a versatile daily trainer suitable for most runners.

Mizuno Mystery Shoe 004

Category: Road
Stack: 44mm
Drop: 6mm
Weight: A secret but it is lighter than the existing version
Price: $190 | €210
Release date: Autumn/Winter 2025

Finally, we come to the Mystery Shoe 004. 400% more mystery from Mizuno than last year at TRE! This might be the most secret of all the shoes in the Mizuno 2025 line up. Firstly, we know that it has the highest stack height of any shoe in the Mizuno range. A 44mm heel comes with a 6mm drop. Once again, we find the new Enerzy Next foam taking midsole duties.

Although it has a giant stack height, the stability is added by the width of the platform underfoot. A very wide midsole helps avoid over pronation through the gait cycle. Mizuno say this will offer a guided and stable ride. Whilst you may be thinking that this much foam will come with a weight penalty, it is apparently somewhat lighter than the existing version. We will find out if this rings true next Autumn when the shoe is unveiled fully to the world!
