La Sportiva 2025 Line Up Introduction
Born in the mountains, La Sportiva knows a thing or two about going up and down. Originally a manufacturer of work boots for lumberjacks, the company now produces a wide range of footwear for athletes and leisure seekers alike.
Coming towards their 100th year of business, the company has a couple of new shoes for us. What’s in the La Sportiva 2025 line up?
La Sportiva Prodigio Pro
• Category: Trail
• Stack: 34mm
• Drop: 6mm
• Weight: 294g | 10.4oz
• Price: $195
• Release date: Fall 2025
First, we have the Prodigio Pro, a mountain super shoe. Capable of technical terrains but also turning up the speed when the trail opens up, the Prodigio is a plated power house. Moreover, the midsole is made from La Sportiva’s new foam, XFlow Speed, a nitrogen infused TPU. Consequently, this produces responsiveness as well as stability on those technical trails.
Furthermore, to aid the Prodigio Pro in the mountains, the midsole unit has been widened to ensure mountain goat-like grip. However, the commitment to stability doesn’t stop there, the sidewalls of the midsole rise up to hold the foot firm. Also, the outsole has deep 4mm lugs to add to the sticky rubber grip.
With 34mm in the heel and a 6mm drop puts it right in the wheelhouse of the majority of the 2025 trail super shoes. Finally, the Power Wire upper holds the foot in place while remaining lightweight and breathable. Phew, what a lot of tech. Despite that, it comes in just shy of $200 so you can save weight and money at once! Overall this seems lie top stuff from the La Sportiva 2025 line up.
La Sportiva Prodigio Max
• Category: Trail
• Stack: 37mm
• Drop: 6mm
• Weight: 294g | 10.4oz
• Price: $165
• Release date: Fall 2025
As the name would suggest, the Prodigio Max is a high cushion, high stack trail shoe for the ultramarathon distance. Built with a similar midsole construction to the Prodigio Pro but with XFlow Endurance foam. The key difference in the midsole foam is the density. Here, it is much lower making the Prodigio Max the softest shoe in the La Sportiva 2025 line up.
A 37mm heel and 6mm drop really pushes the Max into its namesake territory. Furthermore, this is matched increased width in the platform to add stability to the softness. Continuing the theme of plushness, the Power Wire of the Pro becomes Comfort Wire in the Max. All day comfort for long mountain jaunts.
All this cushion for only 295g is an impressive feat for the mountain men especially at a price point of just $165.
