Diadora 2025 Line Up Introduction

For one of their first true years as a running shoe brand, Diadora hit it out of the park with their road lineup last year. They are by far one of the brands in which I was most impressed  with regards to innovation. Furthermore their products were of an outstanding quality. However, with many of their 2025 models being revealed at TRE, it seems like they have gone with the “if it’s not broken, why fix it” model. That said, with new running brands trying to release completely re-designed trainers year on year this may be a good thing. Moreover, some of these “updates” result in a regression from previous models. Therefore, from a sustainability standpoint, this is no bad thing.

Lets look at the 2025 Diadora line up.

Diadora Gara Carbon 2

Category: Road
Stack: 40mm
Drop: 5mm
Weight: 225g | 7.9oz
Price: €290 | $310
Release date: January 2025

The Diadora Gara Carbon 2 is Diadora’s top-of the line marathon rade-day shoe. It was Diadora’s first ever supershoe and the quality and performance of the shoe left many of our reviewers at Meta Endurance shocked. Will its entry into the Diadora 2025 line up do the same?

The Diadora Gara Carbon 2 is a prime example of Diadora’s approach to not changing what isn’t broken. Based on feedback from athletes and customers, they decided to leave the shoe predominantly the same. Therefore, it still features the same ANIMAPBX as version 1. Along with this, it keeps the same carbon plate. As a result of this, the only update found on the shoe is in the upper which still retains the same look and cut. However, it has lost 5g in weight due to a change in fabric.

While version 1 wasn’t cheap, nor is the Gara Carbon 2. Retailing at €290/$310 the Gara Carbon 2 still holds a hefty price tag. However, you definitely get a lot of shoe for your money. You can pick up your pair in January 2025.

Diadora Frequenza 2

Category: Road
Stack: 38mm
Drop: 6mm
Weight: 230g | 8.1oz
Price: €170 | $180
Release date: February 2025

Lightweight, responsive, and soft would be three words which I would use to describe the Diadora Frequenza. With its latest update – the Diadora Frequenza 2 – which was previewed at TRE –  it seems like these aspects have stayed fundamentally the same. However, there has been an update in the upper.  Accordingly, it gains a more comfortable fit in comparison to the previous version.

Releasing in February 2025, the Diadora Frequenza 2 will see the same midsole compound and geometry as before. This undoubtedly makes it a great choice for anything from easy runs to uptempo fartlek sessions. Will this be your choice from the Diadora 2025 line up?

Diadora Nucleo 2

Category: Road
Stack: 38mm
Drop: 5mm
Weight: 275g | 9.7oz
Price: $160
Release date: November 2024

Next, we have a  physical representation of Diadora’s latest slogan to “Normalise high mileage”. The Diadora Nucleo 2 is their daily trainer aimed at all types of athletes. Regardless of their status, be they professional, elite, advanced, or amateur, they will find that the Diadora Nucleo 2 offers great comfort paired with reactability and energy return. It sounds like it could be a gem in the Diadora 2025 line up.

Diadora Mythos Volo 5

Category: Road
Stack: 37mm
Drop: 11mm
Weight: 290g | 10.2oz
Price: €150 | $160
Release date: February 2025

“Normalise high mileage” is Diadora’s mantra. As a result of this,  we meet the Mythos Volo 5. This is their latest daily trainer which helps athletes to reach their running goals. A key point of it is a new technology which they call Blue Shield. This offers support to a runners feet where and when it is needed. At TRE, it was likened to how sand moulds to the sole of your foot when walking or running on it barefoot. However, the main part of this new technology is that it doesn’t interfere with the general biomechanics of the foot when using them. Therefore, only offering support where needed.
