CEP Introduction
CEP are probably best known to runners as a compression and clothing company. Originally a medical company, the German brand has diversified over the years and have ended up with their first shoe. So, what is the Omnispeed?
CEP Omnispeed Preview
On first looks, it might seem a little familiar to a shoe from another German company. There is more than a passing resemblance to the PUMA Fast-R. A split midsole with a whacking great plate between the front and rear. However, looks can sometimes be deceiving.
The Bowtech design is based on their medical background and built into a super trainer style shoe. Moreover, the Omnispeed uses its medical backing in the design to bring performance, stability and enhance the natural mechanics of the foot. Unsurprisingly for a medical company, they want to encourage healthy running.
Next, we come to the foam. N+ TPE foam makes up the stack of the forefoot and wraps the star of the show, the Bowtech double plate. Compressing and releasing like, well a bow, it promises high energy return. The foam in the forefoot is built for bounce while the heel section is EVA for stability and durability. Will the Omnispeed’s performance be as outlandish as its looks? Well, if you want to find out, keep your eyes on Meta Endurance’s channels over the coming weeks. We’ll be sure to bring you news and reviews as soon as we have the miles in the shoe!
The Omnispeed is under WA rules with 37mm and a 7mm drop to get you rolling even though the double plate design may be an issue. The 285g weight means it is no lightweight shoe. If you want to find out more, you can pick up a pair in March 2025.
