PUMA 2025 Line Up Introduction
The brand that usually innovate hugely at TRE have had an interesting year. Their main innovation from the TRE road releases so far has been, well, laces. However, there is also a slightly more innovative trail shoe on the radar. Let’s dive in to see what’s in the PUMA 2025 line up.
PUMA Fast-RB LD

The shoe which caught eyes and attention last year is back. However, this year the shoe has bizarrely become more traditional. Gone it the one-piece sock upper and it has been replaced by a traditional lace closure. That said, it retains the 58mm (yes, fifty-eight, that’s not a typo) heel and 12mm drop. It also keeps the three plates in the midsole, only one of which is carbon. The other two are TPU. So, panic not, there is still no shortage of rule breaking in the PUMA 2025 line up.
Aside from the laces, the only real change is the 7g which they add to the shoe. However, with the weight of the shoe already well north of 300g, another couple won’t make a difference. If you want to try the more tunable fit of the RB LD, you can part with your €350 in February 2025.
PUMA Deviate Elite Trail

Whilst PUMA’s road line up has been gaining plaudits over the past year, their trail line up has been somewhat lacking. As you may guess by the name of the shoe, the PUMA 2025 line up aims to address this with speed. The Deviate Nitro Elite road shoes have been popular with our testers and runners in the real world. That said, PUMA haven’t taken the easy route and slapped a gnarly outsole on the road shoe.
The changes they have made include a 4mm lower stack height. Taking it from the road limit of 40mm to a more ground hugging 36mm. The drop is 6mm to give a little more stability on the rockier runs. Furthermore, the foam is a slightly firmer recipe to add to the stability. Then, we move on to the last which has been made wider to add comfort for long mountain days.
Finally, the plate has had a little retooling to make it more suitable for the ups and downs of the trails. The whole package weighs in at 265g and will retail for €230 when it releases in March 2025. Those looking for a mud monster on gnarly trails may want to keep looking however. With only 3.5mm lug depth, it is built more for terrain like Western States. It’s a shoe to rip in on those moderate trails. However, PUMAGRIP has had a sticky upgrade for the trails. If PUMAGRIP ATR is as good on the trails as the road material, then running up the sides of mountains should be no issue!
