Brooks Cascadia Elite Introduction
Long established in the trail game, the Cascadia has gained an upgrade. The Cascadia Elite takes Brooks to the forefront of the carbon plated trail game. A shoe for those who want to push the pace through the toughest of trails. With a heel stack of 40mm, it isn’t as monstrous as some of the more recent trail releases that have come our way which should make it more at home on the technical side of things.
What’s new in the Cascadia Elite?
To improve performance, the midsole sees Brooks’ DNA Gold which offers 100% PEBA cushioning. Sandwiched into this responsive foam, we find a Speedvault+ carbon infused Pebax plate to help get the momentum going. The design will make the flats feel effortless to make the climbs more manageable.
The quality build does not end there, the upper is MATRYX engineered mesh featuring Kevlar fibres. If it is good enough to stop bullets, it will probably help with keeping thorns and rocks from being too pesky on the trails. Alongside the fit, the hydrophobic PU coated yarns help repel water and sweat to leave you focussed on the trail ahead.
Of course, all of this is for nothing if the shoe doesn’t stick to the trail. To enable you to confidently traverse any terrain, Brooks have enlisted the help of Vibram’s Megagrip Elite rubber. Countless hours of testing have gone into the design to ensure that grip is at a premium over diverse terrains in all conditions.
