adidas 2026 Line Up Introduction

Without a doubt, adidas gave us the shoe of the year in 2025. The EVO SL. A low(ish) cost and high fun shoe which combined their top flight superfoam with a daily trainer feel. It was the must have of the year from run clubs to Instagram posts to pre-dawn warriors. Everyone had to have a pair and since then all the other brands have been trying to ride the lightning, Saucony have the Azura, Brooks bring the Ghost AMP. How are adidas trying to keep ahead of the game? More EVO SL! Let’s take a dive.

As the name suggests, it is an EVO SL, the woven section refers to the upper. For many, the upper was the weak spot of the original. The ultrathin mesh didn’t win many awards for comfort even though it brought lightness. To rectify this, adidas have added a woven mesh upper with a gusseted tongue. More softness for achy feet and more lockdown. Good stuff!

Other than the upper, the shoe remains the same. 38mm of Lightstrike Pro underfoot bringing you the unplated version of the Adios Pro 4 for just $150. I think that most people will appreciate the change in comfort especially as it only brings a 0.2oz weight gain over the original. Will the EVO SL continue to be the most dominant shoe of 2026? That remains to be seen but I am sure this will fly off the shelves when it launches imminently.

Yup, more EVO SL! This time, adidas take us off the beaten path. If you love your EVO SL so much that you can’t face taking them off when you hit the trail, you don’t have to. With the new gravel section of shoes being a real trend in the latter half of 2025, adidas has decided to take its most popular shoe there. While the midsole set up remains the same as the core model, the outsole and upper get a revamp to make them off-road ready.

The outsole sees the addition of 1.5mm lugs to cut through the slimy leaves of winter and spring. While these may not keep you going through the worst conditions of the season, they will certainly stop slipping on minor slop. The upper is replaced with a ripstop material instead of the open mesh. This adds an element of water repellence to the package too. To add to this protection, there is a mud guard around the outside of the shoe. Finally, the upper is rounded out with a gusseted tongue and a plusher, heel collar for lockdown.
